Whether you are someone who likes to update the status of a long sentence? Or want to submit the outpouring of the heart through the popular social networking site in Indonesia this? Or you want to also display the contents of a book that has a character quite a lot? Now this can be possible by increasing the number of characters that can be displayed on your Facebook status.
On Wednesday (11.30.2011), Facebook again increases the maximum capacity of characters that can be displayed to 63,206 characters. A drastic increase in the maximum number of characters where before that can display 'only' for 5000 characters.
Earlier emergence is only capable of displaying up to 160 characters. And in March 2009 rose to 420 characters. Continue in July 2011 to 500 characters. With the increasing popularity, Facebook instantly add character maximum capacity up to 5000. Intermittent two months and then rose again to 63,206 characters.
Facebook itself does not give clear reasons for this. However, Facebook seems to want to make social networking sites become more flexible in displaying a post from users. Or it could be to compete with one of its competitors, Google + which provides limits up to 100,000 characters.
Then why Facebook uses 63,205 figure as the limit on the number of characters? Bob Baldwin, a technician up to explain why, "I make the limit the maximum number of characters using the rather unique method. Taken from the words up with the details of the 'Face' and 'Boo (K)' with the formula FACE - K which is converted into hex numbers, then it becomes 64206 - 1000 = 63 206. " Also explained that, if you post exceed the maximum limit of characters, Facebook will display a warning message "Status update too long".
The addition of a maximum limit of up to 63,206 characters making up much abandon what Twitter has to offer. Twitter itself gives only a maximum limit to 140 characters. When Facebook continues to increase the number of characters, Twitter appears to be still enjoying the facilities it offers.
Although in theory the maximum character could reach 60,000 more, but the ability to actually still be questionable. Some users have tried to prove it, but had not yet reached the limit, some browsers even have to hang and display the message 'not responding'.
Well if you also want to prove it? Try it
