AMD Opteron 6200 & 4200 bring to the Market






AMD announced the launch and availability of the AMD Opteron 6200 Series and 4200. The new AMD Opteron processor is designed to provide a 84 percent increase in performance.

"Our industry is in a new situation, virtualization has provided a new level of consolidation that is reliable and the companies are now increasingly interested in cloud computing for reasons of practicality and efficiency. We have designed the AMD Opteron processor is right for this moment," said Paul Struhsaker, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, AMD's Commercial Business, as reported through official statement on Saturday (11/26/2011).

AMD also announced plans for expansion in 2012 with the addition of AMD Opteron 3000 Series. AMD Opteron 3000 Series platform is targeted to market ultra-dense, ultra-low-power 1P Web Hosting / Web Serving and Microserver.

4-8 is the first processor core CPU code-named "Zurich", is expected to ship in the first half of 2012. "Zurich" is based on the architecture of "Bulldozer" and use the new Socket AM3 +.

  AMD Opteron 3000 Series is designed for service provider customers who require dedicated server
for customers.

AMD also introduced an integrated processor server designed for high-end embedded systems such as storage networking, telecommunications and infrastructure. This model is expected to be available to respond to market needs.
